A single, large Chinese ink-brush calligraphy tattoo artwork placed on the upper back and accented by a muted tone zen brush circle. The more minimalist portions of the left side are highlighted through the rich red underlay; the zen circle itself further breaking the directional flow of the writing. The character was created using a different sized calligraphy brush allowing for sharper fractions in the movement, which further highlights the smoother movement in the circle. The calligraphy and circle were designed independently on separate canvases before combined as the final composition.
