Classically Abstract Sunrise

An abstract floral scene created for a full back tattoo composition entitled 'A Moment Captured' The artwork features a dark brush fish leaping against highly stylized flower-trees into the sunrise / sunset, created in a primarily dispersed soft-brush tone with more pronounced fine brush structural highlights. Although individually traditionally featured in Chinese scroll and or watercolor paintings the elements' movement as well as overall composition is a strong, modern departure from the classics. Painted over a number of days, as the dispersion effects from the ink take time to materialize on the specialist paper, the application session was based on the painting itself yet freehanded.
